Trusted Nursery Worker Jailed for Horrific Toddler Abuse
Nathan Bennett, 30, from Corston near Bath, has been slammed with a 30-year prison sentence for abusing toddlers as young as two. The Partou King Street Nursery worker preyed on five little boys aged two and three in Bristol. He faces at least 24 years behind bars before any chance of release.
CCTV Footage Reveals Sickening Abuse
Bennett joined the nursery in July 2024. Alarm bells rang in February 2025 after parents and staff raised concerns. His manager reviewed CCTV footage and caught Bennett with his hands down a child’s trousers. He was suspended immediately and arrested by Avon and Somerset Police.
Staff Raised Early Warnings
During the trial, colleagues admitted they noticed odd behaviour long before formal complaints surfaced. Bennett showed a “jealous attachment” to certain toddlers, often keeping children on his lap for prolonged periods and acting possessively. One staff member even spotted holes in his trousers’ crotch — a red flag they say they ignored.
“I got him to stop doing it,” said one boy’s mum after her son described what Bennett had done. “He said it happened at nursery.”
Denial Amidst Guilty Pleas
Bennett pleaded guilty to 13 offences involving four victims and was convicted of eight more, including two counts of raping a child under 13. In a chilling police interview, he denied targeting kids but confessed it was “easier to be around children in a professional way.” Prosecutor Virginia Cornwall called the case “every parent’s nightmare,” while investigating officer DC Bethany Cook hailed the families’ bravery and called the ordeal “deeply distressing.” The nursery shut down in December 2025 following the scandal. Bennett faces 24 years minimum behind bars, plus six years on licence after parole.
