Loate exposed himself in public twice
Tumie Loate, 43, from London, has been handed a community sentence after shocking incidents in Faringdon, Oxfordshire. On November 18, 2023, Loate was spotted masturbating near the Old Crown Inn, right in front of a family with young children. Witnesses described him as “clearly drunk.”
The disturbing behaviour didn’t stop there. Moments later, a pregnant woman walking her dog saw him “wobbling around” before he began to masturbate again. She quickly called the police.
Criminal record and mental health issues revealed
After being reported to pub staff, Loate fled the scene but was later found in a Tesco car park. His record shows six previous convictions, including four similar exposure offences.
During sentencing at Oxford Crown Court on March 5, Loate pleaded guilty to outraging public decency and exposure charges just before his trial was set to begin.
Defence lawyers revealed Loate suffers from schizophrenia. Judge Hassan Khan called the case “very concerning” but took the mental health issues into account.
Community order and rehab enforced
Loate received a 12-month community order. This includes six rehabilitation activity requirement days and a six-month mental health treatment plan to address his condition.
