Emergency Services called to Traffic Collision in Newport

Emergency Services have been  called to a traffic collision involving two cars  this afternoon on the Isle of Wight. Police, Fire and the  Ambulance Service where called to the scene just after 5pm this afternoon. The incident is  on Trafalgar Road in Newport.  One of the vehicles has collided with a building, near to West Street and Trafalgar Road.  The driver is not trapped. Two Fire Crews from Isle of Wight Fire and Rescue Service stationed at  Newport have been sent to the scene. Fire crews are assisting the Police with scene safety and assessing the damage to the building.  No-one is thought to have been seriously hurt. Police are advising motorists to avoid the area whilst they  deal with the  incident.   More to  follow
