Train services near Surrey ground to a halt today following a nail-biting ‘near miss’ incident on the tracks at Edenbridge railway station.

British Transport Police were called at 8:55am on March 6 after reports of a possible casualty on the railway line near Edenbridge. Officers swiftly arrived and conducted a thorough search, thankfully confirming the scare was a near miss rather than a tragedy.
A British Transport Police spokesperson said: “Officers attended and conducted a search of the area and it was confirmed to have been a near miss.”
All Lines Shut Between Redhill and Tonbridge
All Southern trains between Redhill and Tonbridge were suspended as emergency crews dealt with the incident. Commuters faced delays and cancellations during the disruption.
