Emergency services were called to the A2 near Bluewater early Thursday morning following a single-vehicle collision caused by aquaplaning in treacherous weather conditions.

The incident occurred at approximately 4:40 a.m. when the vehicle lost control after hitting a large patch of standing water, overturning and blocking the carriageway. Kent Fire and Rescue Service dispatched two appliances to the scene to ensure it was made safe for other road users. Kent Police are continuing their investigation into the incident. Motorists are reminded to remain vigilant and mindful of the risks posed by aquaplaning, particularly during heavy rainfall and poor visibility.
