Early Morning Horror on A2: Car Overturns in Aquaplaning Crash Near Bluewater
Single-Vehicle Crash Closes Lanes Near M25
Emergency services raced to the A2 near Bluewater just before 5am Thursday after a car smashed into trouble in deadly wet conditions. The vehicle hit a massive puddle, losing control, flipping over, and blocking the busy carriageway.
Kent Fire and Rescue Service sent two appliances to secure the wreck and protect other drivers. Kent Police and National Highways teams managed traffic and surveyed the scene amid the chaos.
Delays and Lane Closures Frustrate Commuters
Lanes were shut down near the M25 junction to keep emergency workers safe. This is causing heavy delays for morning travellers. Officials are warning drivers to slow right down and drive to the weather, not just the speed limit, as rain and risk of aquaplaning continue.
No Serious Injuries But Investigation Ongoing
“Our crews worked quickly to secure the area and mitigate any further risk to drivers. Thankfully, no serious injuries have been reported at this time,” said a spokesperson for Kent Fire and Rescue Service.
Kent Police are probing the crash to find out exactly what happened. Motorists are urged to stay alert on slippery roads and watch out for signs of aquaplaning in poor visibility.
