Police swooped on October 7 after a tip-off from a concerned local, seizing a stash of fake designer gear.
Massive Haul of Knock-Off Tracksuits and Jumpers
Officers uncovered 28 tracksuits and eight jumpers, all believed to be cheap knock-offs of top brands like Fendi, Louis Vuitton, Versace, and Gucci.
The fakes were reportedly flogged for just £30 each — a fraction of the price of genuine items.
Crackdown on Counterfeits to Protect Shoppers and Businesses
The seized threads will now face thorough checks to confirm if they’re genuine. If found to be fake, serious enforcement action could follow against the seller.
“Counterfeit goods not only mislead consumers, but they also undermine legitimate businesses and can be linked to wider criminal activity,” said Councillor Syed Ghani, cabinet member for enforcement and community safety.
