Tragedy struck in Cambridgeshire after a car carrying five teenagers plunged into the River Nene, leaving one girl dead and a boy still missing.
Body Recovered as Search Continues
Specialist divers recovered the body of a teenage girl this afternoon following the crash on Tuesday night. The vehicle, carrying three girls and two boys aged 16 to 18, veered off North Brink Road in Wisbech St Mary at around 8.20pm and plunged into the river.
Three passengers – two girls and one boy – escaped the wreckage with non-life-threatening injuries and were taken to The Queen Elizabeth Hospital in King’s Lynn.
One Teen Still Missing After Crash
Cambridgeshire Police said one teenager remains unaccounted for as divers continue to scour the river. “North Brink is likely to remain closed for the remainder of the day,” a police spokesman confirmed.
Officers are urging anyone with information or dashcam footage to come forward, citing incident 515 of 17 March.
