Loaded Glock Seized in Police Sting
Daniel Blake, 41, from Water Street, St Helens, has been slammed with a five-year jail sentence after cops discovered a loaded firearm in his car. The sentencing came down at Liverpool Crown Court on Friday, March 20.
The drama unfolded on Sunday, January 19, when officers stopped and searched a black Range Rover in St Helens. Inside, they uncovered drugs, cash, a taser, and bladed weapons. Blake was arrested on suspicion of drug and weapon offences but bailed.
Raid Uncovers More Weapons and Drugs at Blake’s Home
Police didn’t stop there. A follow-up search at Blake’s home and a blue BMW 3 Series revealed additional stash: more drugs, cash, weapons, and critically, a loaded Glock pistol complete with a magazine and ammunition.
Blake faced new charges for possession of a firearm and criminal property. He later pleaded guilty.
Police Warn: Firearms Won’t Be Tolerated
“This sentencing shows how determined we are to rid our streets of firearms and disrupt serious organised crime,” said Detective Inspector James Rotherham.
“This weapon was capable of killing somebody and was thankfully taken off our streets by our officers. Blake’s conviction sends a clear message: we will arrest, charge, and prosecute anyone involved in serious crimes.”
