Human Remains Found in St Helens Flat – Man Charged
A chilling discovery in St Helens has led to a 65-year-old man being charged after human remains were uncovered in a flat late on Thursday night. The grim find has sparked a major police investigation.
Body Discovered at Gerards Court
Police were called to Gerards Court at around 11.30pm on 8 January following a safety concern report. Officers searched the flat and found human remains. The identity of the deceased has not yet been confirmed.
Man Charged and Second Arrest Made
- George Gordon, 65, from Gerards Court, was arrested at the scene.
- He faces charges of preventing lawful and decent burial and obstructing the coroner.
- Gordon is remanded to appear at Liverpool Magistrates Court on Monday 12 January.
- A second man, aged 58 and from St Helens, was also arrested on suspicion of assisting an offender and remains in custody.
