Oliver Hamilton-Harris celebrated his 45th birthday with a twist — landing himself behind bars after savagely attacking a friend following a pub crawl in Herne Bay.
Brawl Turns Brutal After Birthday Drinks
On 8 November 2025, Hamilton-Harris spent the afternoon hopping pubs with a mate, gearing up for his birthday the next day. But the fun turned sour around 6pm when the pair left a pub and headed to a house on Herne Bay High Street.
An argument quickly escalated into a violent fight in the front garden. The situation worsened when Hamilton-Harris stormed inside, grabbed a weapon, and returned to strike his friend multiple times, including stabbing him.
Victim Left with Stab Wounds, Police Launch Hunt
The victim described being hit on his side, back, and chest. Disoriented but alive, he fled to a nearby address where emergency services were called. He was treated for two stab wounds at a local hospital and has since been discharged.
Police reviewed CCTV footage and tracked down Hamilton-Harris the next morning—his birthday—arresting him on charges of grievous bodily harm with intent.
Two Years Behind Bars for Senseless Attack
Appearing at Margate Magistrates’ Court on 10 November 2025, Hamilton-Harris pleaded guilty. He was remanded until his sentencing on 19 March 2026 at Canterbury Crown Court, where he received a two-year and two-month prison sentence.
Detective Constable Amy Drury said: “This was a senseless and unprovoked attack that the victim was fortunate to survive. I welcome the court’s decision to impose a prison sentence on this violent offender, and I hope it offers the victim some closure as he continues to recover emotionally and physically from this attack by a once close friend.”
