Homes Left without Power in the Isle of Wight following Lighting Strikes

Six post codes have been affected by two separate power cuts on the Isle of Wight this evening (Saturday). Blackwater Mill Care Home,Blackwater Road and Birchmoor Lane in Newport and Main Road Ventnor some 120 homes have been without electricity for more than two hours. Scottish and Southern Electricity Networks says an engineer is on site to carry out investigations into the cause of the fault.
