Horror Crash Claims Life at Dimmocks Cote
A fatal collision has rocked the quiet village of Ely this morning. A train smashed into a car at the Dimmocks Cote level crossing in Cambridgeshire, leaving one person dead.
Emergency Services Respond
British Transport Police were called to the scene at around 10am on Tuesday, March 3. Officers, along with paramedics, rushed to the level crossing following reports of the crash.
Tragically, a person was pronounced dead at the scene. Another individual was treated for minor injuries.
Official Statement from British Transport Police
“BTP were called at around 10.15am this morning to reports of a collision involving a train and a car at Dimmocks Cote level crossing in Ely. Officers responded alongside paramedics and sadly a person has been pronounced dead at the scene,” said a British Transport Police spokesperson.
“Enquiries are ongoing to identify the person and inform their next of kin. Another person is receiving treatment for minor injuries.”
