A 27-year-old man has tragically died after the car he was driving crashed into a tree in Sydenham, southeast London.
Emergency services were called to Cator Road just before 10pm on Sunday evening (April 27), following reports of a serious collision. Officers from the Metropolitan Police, London Ambulance Service, London Fire Brigade, and London’s Air Ambulance all attended the scene.
The cause of the crash remains under investigation. No other vehicles are believed to have been involved.
Local residents reported seeing a large emergency response and road closures in place throughout the night.
Police have appealed for any witnesses or anyone with dashcam footage in the area at the time to come forward to assist with their inquiries.
