Man Airlifted From DFDS Ferry After Medical Emergency Near Newhaven
A man was rushed to hospital on Sunday morning following a medical emergency aboard a DFDS ferry just after it left Newhaven Port bound for Dieppe.
Emergency Strikes Shortly After Departure
The incident happened around 11:35am, only a few miles south of Newhaven. The ferry quickly turned back towards the coast to get the patient urgent help.
Air Ambulance Scrambles To The Scene
HM Coastguard’s air ambulance 123 163 from Lydd was dispatched and flew directly to the ferry’s location. The patient was airlifted off the vessel and taken to hospital for treatment.
DFDS Confirms Onboard Incident
A DFDS spokesperson confirmed the medical emergency and praised the swift response by the crew and rescue services.
