West Midlands Police have arrested and charged a 21-year-old man following the sexual assault of two women in Birmingham’s city centre.
Leonardo Gillin Faces Serious Charges
Leonardo Gillin stands charged with sexual assault and non-fatal strangulation related to incidents that occurred in the early hours on Church Street and Newhall Street yesterday morning.
He has been remanded in custody and is set to appear at Birmingham Magistrates’ Court today, 28 March.
Police Urge Witnesses to Come Forward
West Midlands Police continue their investigation and are keen to hear from anyone who was in the area and may have information. Witnesses are asked to call 101, quoting log number 126 of 27 March.

Authorities acknowledge public concerns over safety and vow to crack down on violence against women and girls (VAWG).
“We can’t, and won’t, tolerate violence against women and girls,” police said. “We’re stepping up patrols with both visible and plain-clothed officers and working with partners and support groups to create safer streets.”
