Abdul Sami, 23, from Mannheim Road, has been found guilty of murdering his step-mother, Rizwana Kousar, 41. The verdict came today (17 March) at Bradford Crown Court.

On 15 August 2023, Rizwana was discovered unconscious in her bath at their home on Kensington Road, Bradford. Despite hospital treatment, she died two days later.

The court was told Sami strangled Rizwana using her own headscarf. A post-mortem revealed she died from brain injuries caused by oxygen deprivation.
