Man left with fractured skull and life changing injuries

Officers from Hampshire Constabulary are appealing for witnesses to a serious assault where a 38 year old man sustained a fractured skull after a bottle hit him on the head. The incident occurred between 11pm and 11.32pm on Friday, May 10, outside The Beacon pub in Kings Road, Basingstoke. The victim, who is from Basingstoke, was hit on the back of the head after the bottle was thrown. He was knocked unconscious and was taken to hospital where he underwent surgery. The suspect is described as being a black male, aged around 20 – 25. Were you in or around the Beacon on Friday night?
