Man Taken to Hospital After Being Hit by Train at Canada Water Underground Station

  A man has been taken to hospital following an incident at Canada Water Underground station this morning (March 10), where he was struck by a train. A spokesperson for the British Transport Police" data-wpil-keyword-link="linked" data-wpil-monitor-id="131380">British Transport Police said:

“Officers were called to a report of a casualty on the tracks just after 10am today (10 March) at Canada Water Underground Station. Officers and paramedics attended and a person has been taken to hospital with injuries not thought to be life changing or threatening. The incident is not thought to be suspicious.”

The London Ambulance Service confirmed a significant emergency response was dispatched, including an ambulance crew, a paramedic in a fast response car, an incident response officer, HART paramedics, and London’s Air Ambulance.

“Our first paramedics arrived in five minutes,” said an LAS spokesperson. “We treated a man at the scene and took him to a major trauma centre by road.”

The incident has caused major disruption on the Overground network, with all lines between Dalston Junction and Surrey Quays suspended while emergency services continue their work.
