Chaos on Birmingham Street as Stabbing Spree Hits Primary School Vicinity
Multiple Stabbings Spark Massive Emergency Response
Armed counter-terrorism officers, air ambulance crews, and numerous emergency teams swarmed a residential street in Birmingham after several people were stabbed just outside a primary school. The horror unfolded on Bridge Road in the Alum Rock area, where witnesses reported scenes of utter chaos.
Emergency services quickly set up a cordon as medics treated victims, with one person seen lying in the street while officers desperately performed CPR. The nearby primary school went into lockdown amid the chaos, as a flood of ambulances arrived to assist the wounded.
Eyewitnesses Describe Bloody, Frantic Scene
Eye-witnesses painted a grim picture of the attack’s aftermath. One described a woman screaming bloody-handed from an upstairs window. Another said a passer-by tried to use their car to stop the attacker, who repeatedly stabbed his victim before fleeing into a nearby block of flats.
There were unconfirmed reports that gunshots were heard inside the building where the suspect escaped, adding to the terror gripping the neighbourhood.
Armed Police and K9 Units Sweep Area
Video shared from the scene showed an intense police presence behind a cordon, with armed officers gearing up and entering the danger zone. Police dogs, including a German Shepherd, were deployed to search the area and assist with the evolving situation. A figure was also spotted at a top-floor window in a nearby flat, heightening tensions.
Pedestrians and vehicles were diverted away from the scene as emergency teams battled to regain control.
Counter-Terror Units Deployed But No Confirmation of Terror Link
West Midlands Police have not yet confirmed how many were injured, their condition, or if anyone has been arrested. While counter-terrorism units were on scene, their presence doesn’t necessarily mean a terror attack, as such teams respond routinely to serious weapons incidents as a precaution.
Local authorities, including the nearby school, church, West Midlands Police, and the Home Office have been contacted for comments. More details are expected as the investigation unfolds.
