A young woman was taken to the hospital with serious injuries after being found unconscious in the street but was sadly pronounced dead shortly after arrival.
Shocking Discovery in Austhorpe
Police sprang into action just before 6am on 28 March following reports of a young woman found unconscious on Kennerleigh Avenue, Austhorpe, Leeds. Despite rushed medical treatment, she was declared dead soon after reaching the hospital.
Unidentified Victim With Distinctive Features
The victim is yet to be identified. Authorities have described her as slim, about 5ft 2in tall, likely in her mid to late teens, with tanned skin, green eyes, and brown hair featuring darker roots and blonde ends. Notably, she had fixed metal braces on both upper and lower teeth.
Police hope releasing these details will prompt someone to step forward and help identify her so her family can be informed.
Four Arrested on Murder Suspicion
Four individuals from a nearby address have been arrested on suspicion of murder: two women aged 18, a 20-year-old man, and a 17-year-old boy. All remain in police custody as the Homicide and Major Enquiry Team digs deeper into the case, with a cordon still in place.
Detectives Appeal for Witnesses
“This is an extremely complex investigation where a young woman has sadly lost her life,” said Detective Chief Superintendent Marc Bowes.
“We have arrested four people in connection with it but have not yet confirmed her identity. We urge anyone who recognises her or saw anything suspicious on Kennerleigh Avenue in the early hours to get in touch.”
The police continue urgent enquiries as the community reels from this tragic event in Leeds.
