A murder investigation is in full swing after a 58-year-old man died in hospital following a suspected street attack in South Wales.
Man Found Critically Injured in Pencoed
The unnamed victim was discovered in Pencoed early on Saturday, February 28, critically injured. He was rushed to the hospital but sadly passed away on Monday.
South Wales Police’s Major Crime Investigation Team has arrested a 26-year-old man, who is currently in custody.
Police Urge Witnesses to Come Forward
Detectives want to hear from anyone in the Felindre Road area between midnight and 5am last Saturday. In particular, they are seeking two elderly people spotted walking nearby between 12.30am and 4am.
Motorists are also urged to check their dashcams for any footage that could shed light on the incident.
Detective Inspector Graham Williams said: “Sadly, a 58-year-old man has died in hospital following the incident on Saturday morning. Our thoughts are with his family at this time and they are being supported.”
He added: “I would like to reassure the local community that we have somebody in custody and are not looking for anybody else at this time.”
