Tragic Crash on Dorset Road Claims Woman’s Life
Fatal Collision on B3091 Near Shaftesbury
Dorset Police were called to a serious crash just after 12.40am on Sunday, 18 December 2022. The smash happened on the B3091 south of Shaftesbury, close to Cole’s Lane junction.
Three vehicles were involved: a red Vauxhall Corsa, a blue Vauxhall Astra, and a blue Citroen Berlingo.
Woman in Her 40s Dies at Scene
Tragically, the driver of the Astra – a woman in her 40s from Sturminster Newton – died at the scene. Emergency crews rushed to the collision but were unable to save her. Her family have been informed.
The driver of the red Corsa, a local woman in her 20s, was treated for injuries believed to be minor.
Road Closures and Police Appeal
Road closures were put in place while officers examined the scene and conducted their investigation.
“Our thoughts are with the family of the woman who sadly died in this collision,” said Sergeant Mark Scammell from the traffic unit. “We are working to establish exactly what happened.”
