A person has tragically died after being struck by a train at Eden Park station this morning (September 9). Emergency services were called to Upper Elmers End Road just before 8:50 am following reports of a casualty on the tracks.
Despite the efforts of paramedics, the person was pronounced dead at the scene shortly after. British Transport Police" link="linked" id="91574">British Transport Police have confirmed that the incident is not being treated as suspicious, and a file will be prepared for the coroner.
Southeastern also issued a statement regarding the disruption: “A person has been hit by a train between Elmers End and Hayes (Kent), resulting in all lines being closed. As a result, trains will be cancelled or revised. This is expected until 12:00.”
