Tragedy at Broxbourne Station: Person Killed on Railway Tracks
A person has died after being hit by a train at Broxbourne station in the early hours of today.
Emergency Response and Investigation
Emergency services rushed to the scene just before 6.40am following reports of a casualty on the tracks. Despite paramedics’ best efforts, the individual was pronounced dead at the scene.
British Transport Police confirmed the death is not being treated as suspicious. A file will now be handed to the coroner.
“Officers were called to a report of a casualty on the tracks just before 6.40am this morning (August 20) at Broxbourne railway station. Officers and paramedics attended and sadly a person was pronounced deceased. The incident is not thought to be suspicious and a file will be prepared for the coroner.”
Rail Chaos: Lines Shut for Nearly Three Hours
The fatal incident caused chaos on the rail network. All lines between Bishop’s Stortford and Broxbourne were closed for almost three hours.
Services hit included Greater Anglia and Stansted Express trains running between 123.
