Person Hit by Car Near School in Chadwell Heath as Emergency Services Rush to Scene

A person has been struck by a vehicle near a school in Chadwell Heath, prompting a major emergency response and the closure of High Road this afternoon. Emergency services were called to the scene at approximately 3.40pm, where medics treated a person seen lying on the road following the collision. The London Ambulance Service (LAS) confirmed multiple units were dispatched, including an ambulance crew, an advanced paramedic, and a paramedic in a fast response car.    

A London Ambulance Service spokesperson said:

“We were called at 3.40pm today (17 March) to reports of a road traffic collision on High Road, Chadwell Heath. We have sent resources to the scene, including an ambulance crew, an advanced paramedic and a paramedic in a fast response car. The incident is currently ongoing and we are working with our emergency services partners.”

High Road was immediately cordoned off to allow for treatment and investigation, causing traffic delays during the busy school pick-up period. Earlier today, emergency services were also spotted at Chadwell Heath station, where Elizabeth line services between Stratford and Shenfield were disrupted. It remains unclear whether the two incidents are connected, and the British Transport Police have been contacted for further information. The incident near the school has raised concerns among local parents and residents, with many expressing worry over pedestrian safety during peak times.
