OAP Recovering after being Robbed in Southsea

 

Police are appealing for witnesses after an 84-year-old woman was robbed yesterday  Wednesday  in Burgoyne Road, on the junction with Furness Road, in Southsea.

 

The elderly victim was walking along the road at around 5-5.20pm when a man grabbed her handbag from behind.
The woman tried to keep hold of her bag, but the offender tugged it away from her, causing her to fall to the ground.

 

The handbag, which was black faux leather, contained a black leather purse with £70, a bus pass and debit card inside.

 

The man was described as:

 

· About 5’ 6” tall

 

· Slight build

 

· He was wearing a long coat, with the hood up
