Police were reportedly called after a person livestreaming from a Gosport community centre claimed the venue was being used by members of the Islamic community for prayer and religious teaching.

A post circulating on social media claimed that the Nimrod Community Centre in Gosport was being used for prayer and religious teachings and that police were contacted while the person was broadcasting live on TikTok.

The individual said they had been “doing nothing” and suggested there would be further developments.

However, the claims in the social media post have not been independently verified, and it is not clear from the information provided why police were called, who made the call or whether officers took any action.

There is also no evidence in the post itself of any offence being committed at the community centre.

The circumstances surrounding the reported police attendance remain unclear.

Any confirmed information from Hampshire and Isle of Wight Constabulary or the community centre would be needed to establish exactly what happened.
