Police hunt witnesses after sheep savaged in suspected dog attack near Louth

 

Sheep left battered and bruised in North Elkington

Police are on the lookout for witnesses following a brutal attack on a sheep in North Elkington, close to Louth. The poor animal was left with serious injuries and rushed to the vets for emergency treatment.

Dog suspected in shocking field attack

Officers believe the savage attack took place in a field on Grange Farm Lane. The incident reportedly happened on Friday 21 November or before 1pm the next day. Police suspect a dog was behind the violent assault.

Police plea: Witnesses urged to speak up

PC Charlotte Redmond, leading the probe, is calling on anyone who was walking nearby or saw anything unusual to get in touch. She said: “If you witnessed anything suspicious in the area, please come forward.”
