Radio DJ Scott Mills was grilled under caution by police back in 2018 over historic sexual offence allegations involving a teenage boy.
Allegations From Late 1990s
The claims relate to incidents said to have happened between 1997 and 2000. The Met launched an investigation in 2016 after receiving a referral from another force.
A man in his 40s, believed to be Mills, was interviewed under caution as part of the probe. However, the Crown Prosecution Service (CPS) ruled in 2019 that there wasn’t enough evidence to press charges, so the case was dropped.
Scott Mills Exits BBC Amid Conduct Allegations
The BBC has confirmed Mills is no longer with the corporation following unspecified allegations about his personal conduct. No further details have been released.
A Metropolitan Police spokesperson said:
“In December 2016, the Met began an investigation following a referral from another police force. The investigation related to allegations of serious sexual offences against a teenage boy. These were reported to have taken place between 1997 and 2000. As part of these enquiries, a man who was in his 40s at the time of the interview was questioned by police under caution in July 2018. A full file of evidence was submitted to the Crown Prosecution Service, who determined the evidential threshold had not been met to bring charges. Following this advice, the investigation was closed in May 2019.”
Scott Mills, a familiar voice on UK radio, now faces an uncertain future as the circumstances of his departure remain under wraps.
