Shoal of fish found after Late Night Search Sparked in Portsmouth

A search operation was sparked after reports that a person was splashing in the water in the early hours of this Sunday morning. A concerned member of the public contacted the coastguard stating they heard someone in distress Portsmouth Lifeboat Brian Pride was called by the UK Coastguard just after 2am this morning to help find the person. The service’s voluntary crew set off at about 2am to comb the area near Lock lake Eastney. The Maritime and Coastguard Agency also launched teams from Portsmouth Coastguard alongside Hampshire Police as part of the operation, while night vision devices and search lights were used to search the shoreline the lifeboat searched from the water. Lifeboat Crews cut their engines and located the noise to a Shoal of fish. The Rescue crews were than stood down shortly after 3am this morning.
