Tragedy struck Leeds when 18-year-old Owen Ford lost his life following a serious collision on Woodhouse Lane. The incident happened just after midnight on Thursday, 5 March.

What Happened?

West Yorkshire Police found a silver Toyota Prius in collision with Owen around 12:15am. The private hire car was involved in the shocking smash. Owen was rushed to the hospital, but sadly died on Saturday, 21 March from his injuries.

Driver Arrested, Now on Bail

The 55-year-old Leeds man behind the wheel was arrested for causing serious injury by careless driving. He’s currently on bail while investigations continue.

Police Urge Witnesses to Come Forward

The Major Collision Enquiry Team (MCET) is desperate for anyone who saw the crash or events leading up to it to get in touch. Dashcam, CCTV, or mobile footage could be crucial.
