Three people were injured when a double-decker bus smashed into a bridge in Woodley, Berkshire this morning.
Driver Suffers Medical Episode Before Crash
The accident happened around 9:15am on Loddon Bridge Road. Reports suggest the male driver experienced a medical episode behind the wheel before the bus collided with the bridge.

Serious Damage and Road Closure
Photos show the bus’s upper deck badly damaged and multiple windows smashed. Witnesses say the bus should have turned left before reaching the bridge but instead continued straight into it.

Thames Valley Police closed the road while National Highways inspected the bridge damage. The road has now reopened.

Reading Buses Responds
A spokesperson from Reading Buses confirmed it was one of their vehicles and admitted the bus had “departed from the normal route”. They added: “We are working with the emergency services to investigate the circumstances.”
