A pedestrian has died in a heartbreaking incident on the railway line near Marston Green Railway Station, Birmingham, shortly before midday on Wednesday.
Emergency Services Rush to Scene
British Transport Police were called at around 11:50am after reports of a casualty on the tracks. Officers arrived alongside paramedics, but sadly, the person was pronounced dead at the scene.
“The incident is not being treated as suspicious, and a file will be prepared for the coroner,” a British Transport Police spokesperson confirmed.
West Midlands Ambulance Service also responded swiftly. A spokesperson said: “We were called to Marston Green Station, Holly Lane, Birmingham, at 11:48am following reports of an incident on the railway line. An ambulance and two paramedic officers attended. Sadly, a pedestrian was confirmed dead at the scene.”
Train Services Resume After Drama
All affected train lines between New Street and Birmingham International stations have now reopened, restoring normal service after the tragic event.
