A 13-year-old boy has died following a collision involving a car and his scooter on Fairmont Road, Grimsby. The crash happened on Tuesday, 24 March 2026.

The Crash and Aftermath

At around 6pm, a white Seat Ibiza is believed to have hit the boy as he rode his self-propelled scooter across the road.

Emergency services rushed the teenager to the hospital with life-threatening injuries. Despite four days of desperate medical efforts, he tragically passed away on Friday evening, 27 March.

Police Investigations and Arrests

Humberside police say inquiries are ongoing to establish the full circumstances of the smash.

  • An 18-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of dangerous driving, causing serious injury and attempting to pervert the course of justice.
  • A 41-year-old man was also arrested on suspicion of perverting the course of justice.

Both men have been released under investigation as the probe continues.

Police Appeal for Witnesses

Officers are urging anyone who saw the collision or has CCTV or dashcam footage from the area around the time to come forward. Call 101 quoting log 346 of 24 March.
