A man and woman caught selling Class A and B drugs in Congleton have been locked up. Robert Machin, 49, and Sophie Brown, 22, admitted to dealing cocaine, heroin, and cannabis.
Big Bust in Congleton’s Drug Trade
On 2 December 2025, Cheshire police’s Op Apollo team raided a property on Bradwell Grove. Inside, officers found Machin and Brown. But Machin made a daring escape, climbing a fence using ladders!
Police seized phones, laptops, SIM cards, a USB stick, drugs worth £11,415 on the street, drug paraphernalia, and £1,006 in cash.
Manhunt Ends with Jail Sentences
Brown was arrested at the scene. Machin went on the run but was captured in another raid on Canal Street on 11 December.
Both were sentenced at Chester Crown Court on 18 March 2026. Brown got four years behind bars, Machin was jailed for five years and 219 days.
“We will continue to target those who deal illegal drugs in our towns so that we can improve our communities by disrupting the illegal drug supplies and putting criminals behind bars.”
