West Midlands Police launched a major traffic blitz on key motorways and major routes, targeting dangerous driving and flouting motorists.
Over 30 Vehicles Stopped in High-Profile Operation
The force pulled over more than 30 vehicles – including HGVs, vans, and cars – on the M6, M5, M42, and A38M. The operation, named #OpTramline, focused on cracking down on seatbelt and mobile phone offences.
Routine Checks Reveal Multiple Licence and Insurance Violations
While most stops were for seatbelt and mobile phone breaches, officers uncovered a slew of other offences involving licences and insurance. West Midlands Police Traffic Unit tweeted: “#OpTramline conducted with our #RPUspecials today, across the M6, M5, M42, and A38M. Over 30 vehicles stopped and dealt with, mostly for seatbelt and mobile phone offences, but these stops uncovered other licence and insurance offences as well.”
