More Than 30 Vehicles Pulled Over in High-Profile Operation
The intense crackdown, dubbed #OpTramline, saw officers stop over 30 vehicles – from heavy goods lorries to vans and cars – on the M6, M5, M42, and A38M. The sting focused sharply on seatbelt use and illegal mobile phone use behind the wheel.
Routine Checks Expose Staggering Licence and Insurance Offences
While most offenders were caught for seatbelt and mobile phone violations, officers didn’t stop there. Their random checks uncovered a host of other offences, including driving without valid licences and insurance.
West Midlands Police Traffic Unit tweeted: “#OpTramline conducted with our #RPUspecials today, across the M6, M5, M42, and A38M. Over 30 vehicles stopped and dealt with, mostly for seatbelt and mobile phone offences, but these stops uncovered other licence and insurance offences as well.”
