Police Hunt for Clues in Dover Man’s Mysterious Death

Officers from the Kent and Essex Serious Crime Directorate are urgently searching for witnesses to the last movements of a Dover man found dead at his home.

The body of 72-year-old David Watkins was discovered at a private address on Templar Street around 1.50pm on Thursday, 16 May 2019.

Death Treated as Unexplained After Post-Mortem

A post-mortem on Wednesday, 22 May, left police treating the death as unexplained. Detectives are working hard to piece together the circumstances surrounding Mr Watkins’ death and want to trace his steps in the weeks before he was found.

Police Appeal for Witnesses and Dashcam Footage

  • If you saw David Watkins recently or noticed anything suspicious around Templar Street, police want to hear from you.
  • Vehicle owners who drove near the Templar Street and London Road junction between the morning of 8 May and afternoon of 16 May are urged to check their dashcams and come forward.
