Hundreds of officers are hitting the streets today in a bold blitz against serious and organised crime across the West Midlands. The force’s day-long swoop, dubbed Operation Advance, zeroes in on county lines drug trafficking, knife crime, and sexual offences.
Operation Advance: 24 Hours of Relentless Action
The police will deploy squads across the region, hunting suspects tied to drug networks and wanted for sexual offences. Patrols will ramp up efforts to tackle knife crime and keep a sharp eye on offenders using public transport.
“We’re relentless in our fight against serious and organised crime in the West Midlands,” said Detective Chief Superintendent Ed Foster, head of the Major Crime Unit. “Today is about 24 hours of intensive activity to increase the pressure on those involved in that world.”
Ongoing Fight Against Crime
Operation Advance runs every month, each time targeting different crime hotspots or types of offending. West Midlands Police promise to keep the public updated with live news and alerts via Facebook, TikTok, and Instagram.
