Woman Dies in Fatal Collision in Basingstoke

Police are appealing for witnesses after a woman died in hospital following a collision in Basingstoke. Between 4.40pm and 5pm on Saturday 23 September, a black Audi A6 and a silver Nissan Micra collided on Kempshott Lane at the junction with Homesteads Road. The driver of the Nissan, an 84-year-old woman from Overton, was taken to Southampton General Hospital with serious injuries. However, despite treatment she later died in hospital on Friday 6 October. The driver of the Audi, a 31-year-old man from Cambridgeshire, suffered serious injuries and was taken to Basingstoke Hospital for treatment following the collision. Officers would like to hear from anyone who witnessed the collision, or the moments leading up to it.
