A man has been charged with drugs and firearms offences following a Met investigation into the supply of drugs in north-east London – UKNIP

As a result of close cooperation between Met officers and authorities in the Netherlands, a 27-year-old man was arrested on 18 April at a residential address in Waltham Abbey, Essex.

A search of the property led to the recovery of two revolvers, ammunition, a kilo of MDMA, three kilogrammes of cannabis skunk, numerous packets of edibles, a quantity of cannabis hash and approximately £30,000 in cash.

The man appeared at Wimbledon Magistrates’ Court on 19 April charged with offences including conspiracy to supply drugs and possession of firearms. He was remanded in custody.

Detective Inspector Driss Hayoukane, Specialist Crime, said:“Those who seek to benefit from the misery caused by illegal drugs should be aware that Met officers are working around the clock with partner organisations in this country and overseas.

“This was a precise, data-driven investigation into drugs supply in Ilford and elsewhere in London. We are using every tactic and technology available to us in order to identify and bring to justice the people behind this exploitative trade.

“Please contact the police If you know who is supplying illegal drugs to people in your community. They are destroying lives and greatly increasing the risk of young people becoming victims of violent crime. You can call the police on 101 or to remain anonymous contact the independent charity Crimestoppers.”
