A British tourist, aged 52, tragically lost his life while attempting to rescue two children who were in distress in the sea at a beach in Spain. The incident occurred on La Roqueta beach in Guardamar de Segura, south of Alicante, on Friday.

The man courageously rushed into the water to aid the two youngsters, aged six and seven, alongside others who were struggling against the powerful currents. Despite efforts to save them, the British tourist sadly passed away, along with a 46-year-old man from Poland, after the children were safely rescued. Two additional individuals, a 20-year-old woman, and a 22-year-old man, were hospitalized with breathing difficulties following the ordeal.
