A man has been charged with two counts of rape by the police in Brighton, following an incident that occurred in July 2022. The charges stem from an incident where a girl under the age of 18 reported being raped near Brighton Pier on the evening of Friday, July 16.
Specialist officers provided support to the victim while an investigation was launched into the incident. Joseph Eubank, a 27-year-old resident of Hill Drive in Hove, was subsequently arrested in connection with the case. He has now been charged with two counts of rape of a woman over 16.
Eubank has been released on bail, but with strict conditions imposed. He is expected to appear before Brighton Magistrates’ Court on January 11, 2024.
