A 35-year-old Indian man, Akash Tiwari, was hauled into court on March 17 for allegedly molesting and harassing an air stewardess on a Singapore Airlines flight from Bangkok to Singapore.
Lewd Act Mid-Flight
Akash faces charges of using criminal force to outrage the modesty of the stewardess by deliberately touching her bottom during the flight on February 9. He also stands accused of causing distress with threatening behaviour towards the victim.
Flight Horror as Harassment Continues
Police reports reveal the stewardess was serving Akash near his seat when he reportedly made the inappropriate contact. She warned him to stop and moved to the galley to prepare for landing, but he followed her. Cornering her in a confined space, the harassment allegedly continued despite her shouting at him to back off. The man only returned to his seat after she informed her supervisor.
Police Step In After Touchdown
Officers from the Airport Police Division launched an investigation after landing and promptly arrested Akash. He has pleaded not guilty and will return to court for a pre-trial conference on March 26.
