Over 100 schools in England have received notices to either fully or partially close due to concerns about the safety of their concrete structures. The government has recently released a comprehensive list of these affected schools, all of which were constructed using a potentially hazardous lightweight building material called reinforced autoclaved aerated concrete (Raac).

Among these schools, 24 in various parts of England will implement remote learning for their students due to the concrete safety issues, while four schools have had to transition entirely to remote learning. Additionally, 19 schools have had to delay the start of the term due to Raac-related concerns, as reported by the Department for Education (DfE).
