Serious Crash Closes A36 in Somerset
The A36 in Somerset is shut both ways between the A361 (Beckington) and the A366 (Bath) after a nasty multi-vehicle smash. Avon and Somerset Police are at the scene.
Multiple Vehicles, Several Trapped
Three vehicles collided, trapping four people inside. Fire crews from Trowbridge and Frome were first on site. They called for backup, bringing in heavy rescue teams from Warminster and Trowbridge.
Rescuers are working closely with paramedics, using specialist gear and stabilisation tools to free all trapped passengers safely.
Casualties Treated on Site
Ambulance teams are treating all the injured right there before rushing them to hospital. Firefighters have secured the vehicles and made the crash site safe for emergency work.

Traffic is being diverted onto local roads. Drivers heading this way should expect delays and find alternative routes. This stretch of the A36 will be closed for some time.
