A man has been charged with manslaughter and aggravated burglary following the death of a 75-year-old woman after an alleged burglary in north London.
Police were called to Tollington Park, Finsbury Park, at around 9.20pm on Tuesday, 11 August, following reports of a burglary.
Officers attended alongside the London Ambulance Service and found a 75-year-old woman who required hospital treatment.
She was taken to hospital but died the following day.
The woman has since been named by police as Rose Smith.
Her family continue to be supported by specialist officers while detectives investigate the circumstances surrounding her death.
As part of the investigation, officers arrested a 46-year-old man on Friday, 21 August.
The Metropolitan Police has now confirmed that Jeffrey Dean Rose, 46, of Apsley Close, North Harrow, has been charged with manslaughter and aggravated burglary with intent.
He is due to appear at Barkingside Magistrates’ Court on Tuesday, 25 August.
The investigation remains ongoing.
