Maplin’ s have now left the building as Seven Staff Lose their Jobs on the Isle of Wight
Seven Staff at the Maplin Store on Isle of Wight have closed the doors for the last time today. Many too upset to discuss their futures. The shop has been stripped out and the remains placed in a skip, outside in the car park. Staff could be seen smashing tills and removing hard drives and using a hammer to smash card readers. That’s it one staff member said near to tears “We have stopped trading. I have been here from the start and I’m very sad to see it close. We (the staff) thought that their would be some sort of plan to keep the company going. Many customer have express their upset and have supported us through and through but it was just not meant to be. The large outlet, is one of more than 200 around the country that was doomed when the electrical goods retailer went into administration in February 2018 The unit is sitting empty and forlorn, with a sign saying: “This store is now closed, the management and staff thank you for your custom”. A spokesperson from Price Waterhouse Cooper confirmed the closure.
