Ten fire engines and 70 firefighters are battling a fierce fire at a waste recycling plant on Oakleigh Road, New Southgate.

A large corrugated warehouse stuffed with general waste is ablaze. Luckily, no homes are in danger as crews tackle the inferno.

Firefighters Urge Residents to Stay Indoors

The London Fire Brigade (LFB) received the call at 8.25pm. Firefighters from Southgate and nearby stations rushed to the scene to fight the flames.

“Ten fire engines and around 70 firefighters are dealing with a warehouse blaze on Oakleigh Road in New Southgate,” LFB confirmed.

“The blaze is at a recycling waste industrial estate. Thankfully, it is not affecting any residential properties. Please stay at home while we work to bring it under control.”

Cause of Fire Remains Unknown

At this stage, the reason behind the fire is still unclear as emergency crews continue their efforts to extinguish the blaze.
